What Makes Rise Festival So Special
From the moment you arrive, you know this isn’t just another desert event. Art installations turn the barren landscape into something otherworldly. As the sun drops, every corner becomes a photo opportunity. But the real magic? It happens when thousands of people release their lanterns into the night sky at once.
Here’s how it works. You write your hopes, dreams, or intentions on a biodegradable lantern. Then, as darkness falls over the Mojave, everyone releases them together. Watching those lights rise in unison, thousands of glowing wishes floating upward, is something I won’t forget. It changes you, even if just for that moment.
What’s Included With Your Pass
You’ll get a cushion when you arrive (trust me, your back will thank you), a festival map, and a wristband for access to different areas. We sprang for the platinum pass. That meant food and drinks included in a separate section. Free water stations are scattered throughout the grounds, which matters more than you’d think in desert conditions.
The After-Party
Once the lanterns disappear into the stars, the party kicks into high gear. This year featured Disclosure and Calvin Harris on the Horizon stage. The atmosphere was electric. Everyone was in great spirits, and the staff kept everything running smoothly.
